Located along the eastern border of the Capital Region in upstate NY, 25 minutes from downtown Albany, Averill Park is a hamlet within the Town of Sand Lake. Our venue was first established in the mid-1800’s serving as a stage coach stop for weary travelers. The early 1900’s brought about a massive expansion to include our famous Oak Room Lounge, Great Room and Main Ballroom. We are fortunate to have over 16,000 square feet on just our first floor. This beautifully maintained, temperature controlled space lends to tremendous flexibility for your days event!

You and your guests will enjoy cocktails on our Veranda, where the lake surrounds you, or in our Oak Room Lounge with our 1940’s wrap-around bar and crackling wood-burning fire, the same lounge where the likes of Teddy Roosevelt and Legs Diamond toasted the thoughts of the day; you will be wrapped in the history and majesty of Crooked Lake.

Dine and dance the night away in our Classic Deco Main Ballroom, where the Big Bands of the 1940’s like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey would broadcast live on Saturday nights. Also enjoy the warmth and character of our French Country Great Room with its hand-hewn beams and stone fireplace.

We recognize your second most important vendor will be your caterer. With keeping this in mind, Old Daley on Crooked Lake offers a fully functional commercial kitchen located just off the Main Ballroom. This is where our Old Daley catering team makes the magic happen! You and your guests will be pleased with our award winning food and service that will have everyone raving for years to come.

The second floor, where the original hotel was located, includes our newly renovated wedding party suites where you and your loved ones can prepare for the big event. You will be in awe of the well-appointed salon, private bathrooms, kitchenette, spacious and plush “dressing room” and Art Deco speakeasy.

No matter the season, the historic Old Daley on Crooked Lake is the perfect setting for your wedding. From its sprawling lakefront acreage nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains to our classic Adirondack fireplaces, ablaze in winter to keep your guests warm, Crooked Lake is truly “Where Romance Lives”.

Wedding dates are available 12 months a year, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or any weekday. Please inquire with Jan Keary, our Director of Sales, for discounted rates with limited venue access during the months of January, February and March.

Make Yourselves at Home

You and your wedding party are welcome to get ready, decorate and have photos taken prior to your ceremony. Spend the day relaxing and getting ready in our second floor Wedding Party Suites. Please inquire with your Event Planner for our venue extension fee and food/beverage packages to enjoy while everyone prepares for the day. Our main foyer or by the lake is a lovely location for cocktails as your guests arrive. Customize your package with your Event Planner to “wow” your guests! Our couples are welcome to personalize their day throughout the venue with family photos, florals and theme décor. We have two fireplace mantels waiting for you to embellish for the perfect photo backdrop.
